Tips for Setting Up a Setup

A setup can be saved in memory at any time. But, a little planning can be well worth the effort. The following are some tips to get the most from your setups.

 

When setting up to save a setup take into consideration how each adjustment will effect signal acquisition and display. Here is a checklist of some key items:

 

Probe calibration
Trigger settings
Waveform position
Measurements
Cursors
Filtering
Glitch Detect
Persistence
Reference

 

NOTE: Some Scopemeter version may not include all features.

 

Reference Waveforms

A powerful feature is to create and save a Reference waveform. If you create a Reference waveform and then save the setup to instrument memory before shooting the setup to the AES Setup Shooter. When you shoot the setup back to the scope the Reference waveform will be available.
